After awards loss, play closing
The Broadway production of the British comedy “The Play What I Wrote” will close Sunday. The Kenneth Branagh-directed show, which features cameo appearances by celebrities, failed to win a Tony Award for special theatrical event on Sunday.
The thrice-nominated musical “A Year With Frog and Toad,” based on Arnold Lobel’s children’s books, also will close Sunday, but its closing was announced last week, prior to its Tony shutout.
