Serbs Seek Release
of Warlord’s Widow
About 1,500 people gathered in Belgrade to demand the release of Serb warlord Zeljko “Arkan” Raznatovic’s widow. She was jailed in March in a police dragnet after the assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic.
Svetlana “Ceca” Raznatovic, a popular folk singer, was detained over alleged ties to one of the key suspects in Djindjic’s death. The suspect was also a former member of her late husband’s paramilitary unit. Police have filed charges against the singer for illegal possession of 11 guns.
