101 Freeway Project to Close Southbound Lanes
From a Times staff report
Southbound lanes of the Ventura Freeway will be closed four nights this week as a $100-million improvement project continues.
During the closure, which will run from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. today through Friday, southbound traffic will exit at the Oxnard Boulevard offramp and reenter the freeway at Vineyard Avenue.
The project, to be completed in the summer of 2006, covers a two-mile stretch from Vineyard Avenue to Johnson Drive and includes replacement of the Santa Clara River bridge. The lanes are being closed for removal of a bridge abutment.
