Warnings Are Issued for Tropical Storm Bill

The second named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season formed in the Gulf of Mexico, and storm warnings were issued from Texas to Mississippi.
Tropical Storm Bill had sustained winds of 50 mph and was centered about 220 miles south of Morgan City, La., according to the National Hurricane Center. Forecasters said the tropical storm is expected to strengthen and could become a hurricane with winds of at least 74 mph by the time it reaches the Louisiana coast late today.
