Zookeeper Recovering After Attack by Tiger
From Times Wire Reports
A Sacramento Zoo employee was recovering Monday after he was attacked by a 325-pound tiger, zoo officials said.
Zookeeper Chad Summers, 30, was attacked Sunday as he prepared food for a Sumatran tiger named Castro.
Zoo Director Mary Healy said a volunteer, Hannah Gorski, 23, grabbed a shovel and hit the tiger on the head. The distracted tiger backed into a separate holding den, allowing Gorski to secure the door, Healy said.
