Militants Accused of Burning School

Suspected Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters set fire to a tent school in the eastern Afghan province of Laghman, destroying the makeshift educational facility but causing no casualties, said Ismat Khan, who heads an army garrison in the province.
About 600 boys and girls were enrolled in the school in Daulat Shah district, Khan said. No one had been arrested. The Taliban had banned girls from school.
