Hospital Workers Fail to Decide on Union
Antelope Valley Hospital support workers were unable to decide whether they want to be represented by the Service Employees International Union, the Caregivers and Healthcare Employees Union, or neither, according to union elections results released Friday.
No winner was declared because no party on the ballot got a majority of 50% plus one vote. About 899 valid ballots were cast. SEIU received 336 votes, CHEU got 333, and 230 votes were cast for neither option, according to the State Mediation and Conciliation Services, which oversaw the election.
