Julie Parrish, 62; Acted in Films With Jerry Lewis, Elvis

Julie Parrish, 62, who starred in the 1967 sitcom “Good Morning World” and appeared in films with Jerry Lewis and Elvis Presley, died Oct. 1 at Tarzana Community Hospital of complications from ovarian cancer.
Born Ruby Joyce Wilbar in Middlesboro, Ky., she began her film career when she was chosen by Lewis as the winner of a national modeling contest. She appeared in the Lewis film “It’s Only Money” and changed her name to Julie Parrish for “The Nutty Professor,” another Lewis movie in which she had a small role as a student.
Parrish portrayed Linda on “Good Morning World,” a CBS program that ran from 1967 to ’68. She also appeared on “Star Trek,” “My Three Sons” and “Beverly Hills 90210.”
She also had several stage roles and received a Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for her portrayal of Maggie in Arthur Miller’s “After the Fall.”
