County to Buy Home for Deputy’s Use
From Staff and Wire Reports
A plan to spend nearly $500,000 on a Timber Cove home for a Sonoma County sheriff’s deputy has been endorsed by the county Board of Supervisors.
The board endorsed an agreement Tuesday to buy a two-bedroom home on 1.4 acres for $472,355. The house would belong to the county and would be used by whichever deputy is assigned to the area.
Supervisors approved the plan because they said housing is too expensive in the remote coastal area to expect the officer to find housing on his own.
