Suspected Bank Robber Arrested in Long Beach
From Times Staff Reports
A suspect in the robbery of six banks in Orange County was arrested as he got off a plane at Long Beach Airport, police said Monday.
Moundir Kamil, 34, of Orange County was returning from a flight to New York City and was arrested at 10:20 p.m. Sunday and booked on suspicion of bank robbery, said Newport Beach Police Lt. John Klein.
Dubbed the “Give Me More Bandit” because of demands for extra cash from tellers, the robber held up six banks in two months, including Bank of America branches in Newport Beach on Sept. 30 and Oct. 7.
