Bank Robbery Suspect Killed, Officer Wounded

A suspected bank robber was fatally wounded and a police officer shot in a leg Tuesday during a brief gun battle at a bank.
An Oceanside Police Department spokesman said the officer, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The officer had responded to a call from a Bank of America branch reporting a robbery attempt.
