Three people were injured when a notebook-size package bomb exploded at a city building in Scottsdale, officials said.

The package was addressed to Don Logan, director of the city’s Office of Diversity and Dialogue, who was severely injured when he opened it. Administrative secretary Renita Linyard, who was nearby, suffered eye injuries. A third person was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

After the blast, police shut down three buildings at the site, searched them with bomb-sniffing dogs and put a nearby church and school under lockdown.
