Frisbees, Other Supplies Are Donated for Iraqis
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A private group brought 15,000 Frisbees, 10,000 school supply kits and three tons of medical supplies to Camp Pendleton on Wednesday to be given to Iraqis when Marines return to Iraq in coming weeks.
Jim Hake, of the Los Angeles-based Spirit of America, said the supplies, purchased with donations, were aimed at breaking down barriers between Iraqis and the U.S. military. The Frisbees are stamped “Friendship” in English and Arabic.
