Small Sewage Spill in Dana Point
By a Times Staff Writer
The Harbor Patrol area in the East Basin of Dana Point Harbor was closed to swimming and diving Thursday because of a small sewage spill, the Orange County Health Care Agency said.
About 10 gallons of sewage leaked from a pinhole break in a pump-out line, officials said.
The leak was noticed Tuesday by Harbor Patrol officers and was verified Thursday through a dye test, said Monica Mazur, a spokeswoman for the agency. The area will be closed until follow-up testing shows that the water quality meets standards, she said.
