* J.C. Penney Co.’s $4.53-billion sale of its Eckerd drugstore chain was approved by the Federal Trade Commission. Penney announced in April that it had sold Eckerd to CVS Corp. of Woonsocket, R.I., and Canada’s Jean Coutu Group Inc.
* Computer Sciences Corp. of El Segundo won a 10-year contract valued at $1.6 billion to run part of Sears, Roebuck & Co.’s computer systems. It will install and manage desktop computers, file-storage servers and systems to support Sears’ websites and data networks.
