Riverside County Voter Registrar Will Step Down

Riverside County Registrar of Voters Mischelle Townsend on Monday announced she was retiring after six years as the county’s top elections official.
Townsend implemented the county’s electronic voting system. Before serving as registrar, Townsend was director of the county’s General Services Agency for four years, and also worked in the county’s administrative office.
Townsend served as executive officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission for seven years, the agency that reviews the incorporation of new cities and annexations.
