Kaberle Caps Toronto Rally

Tomas Kaberle’s goal 3 minutes 45 seconds into overtime capped a comeback for the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 6-5 victory over the host Buffalo Sabres on Monday night.

Alexander Mogilny had three assists, including the 1,000th point of his career, and Mats Sundin and Owen Nolan each scored twice to help Toronto end a two-game losing streak.

Gary Roberts scored for Toronto with 37.2 seconds left in regulation to tie the score.

New Jersey 3, New York Rangers 1 -- Patrik Elias scored his eighth game-winning goal this season to lead the Devils at New York.

Devil goaltender Martin Brodeur had to make only 16 saves.

Atlanta 1, Carolina 0 -- Dany Heatley’s backhander beat goaltender Kevin Weekes 1:43 into overtime at Atlanta.

The Thrashers kept alive their slim Eastern Conference playoff hopes.

Atlanta is in 11th place, eight points behind the New York Islanders, who hold the eighth and final spot.
