‘Scoundrels’ musical due

San Diego’s Old Globe will present the premiere of “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” a new musical based on the 1988 film about two con men on the French Riviera, Sept. 22 to Oct. 24.

David Yazbek (“The Full Monty”) is the composer/lyricist, and Jeffrey Lane wrote the book. Old Globe artistic director Jack O’Brien will direct. Producers David Brown and Marty Bell hope to take the musical to Broadway next year.
