* Jason Buekler, Westminster: Went three for three with two RBIs for the host Lions in a 6-5 upset of No. 12 Lakewood in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader. The Lancers won the second game, 4-0.

* Kevin Wason, Westminster La Quinta: Had a two-out, bases-loaded single to score Adam Jorgensen in the bottom of the seventh for the No. 13 Aztecs in a 3-2 nonleague victory over visiting Huntington Beach Ocean View.

SOFTBALL

* Monica Alnes, Rolling Hills Estates Peninsula: Hit a three-run home run, scored twice and pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts for the host Panthers in a 5-1 Bay League victory over West Torrance.

* Katie Baldwin, Corona Santiago: Hit a grand slam in the first inning to lead the No. 3 Sharks to a 7-0 quarterfinal victory over Etiwanda in the Jurupa Valley tournament.

* Genna Allen, Thousand Oaks: Had three hits, including a solo home run, and three runs scored for the No. 12 Lancers in a 5-0 Marmonte League victory at Moorpark.

BOYS’ TENNIS

* Philip Do and David Tran, Garden Grove Bolsa Grande: Swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 6-3, 6-0, for the undefeated Matadors in a 13-5 Garden Grove League victory at Westminster La Quinta.
