School Officials Probe Mouth-Taping Incident
From Times Wire Reports
School district officials are investigating an elementary school employee for allegedly taping third-graders’ mouths shut last fall.
The incident reportedly happened when a class of 20 third-graders was in the Arthur C. Butler Elementary School library last fall. It’s unclear why and how many students may have had their mouths taped, said Martin Cavanaugh, chief of staff for the district.
The staff member has been accused of “inappropriate conduct” and placed on paid administrative leave, according to Principal Roberta Collier.
