They’re Trying to Put The Big A in L.A.

Bill Plaschke, I reAd your fAwning article on the Angels’ media cAmpAign [March 21]. I had sworn off your writing, since it is so biased now that it’s laughable. Are you trying to compete with Simers?

Until the Angels translate all of that spent money to winning on a regular basis, they still won’t have the recognition for which they’re obviously gunning. They have won one World Series in 43 years of existence. Wow, very impressive.

You claim the Angels will be impossible to ignore this summer. Do you have a crystal ball? Dodger fans know all too well that money spent does not equal pennants. What happens if the Angels start bleeding money from all of those bloated contracts, especially if they don’t win? Those beer prices will go right back up. Also, having only 43,000 seats limits their revenue. Don’t be nAive.
