Doing Fine Without It

Re “Schools Get Waivers for Algebra Law,” April 26: I am 77 years old and would still be in school today trying to graduate if the law concerning algebra had been in place then. I took algebra my first semester in 1942 and got an F. I repeated the class and, midway, found I was getting a D, so I gave it up. I did well in my other classes -- and have had a full, happy life without algebra.
