A good reason for retirement

One of my greatest pleasures since retiring has been the luxury of time in the morning to enjoy my breakfast and the L.A. Times. I particularly look forward to Food and Home, and Chris Erskine’s column always brings a smile.

As a bona fide black thumb but the proud owner of eight rosebushes after a recent pool and yard remodeling project, I especially appreciate the monthly guide on the care and feeding of roses.
