I like to hike on Hollyhock Trail in Mandeville Canyon. It’s the best place in Santa Monica for natural flora and fauna, and the hiking can be as vigorous as you wish. My favorite restaurant is La Dolce Vita -- it’s like “Mamma Mia Mafia Style,” with very good fish, excellent pasta and good service. I also enjoy listening to the car radio tuned to 89.1 or any station that, by a terminal flaw, gives you two stations overlapping each other. It’s jarring, but heavenly. You might get jazz over farm reports. For some reason summer is best for what I call “twofer” radio.
