Hate Crime Alleged in Dog Attack on Plumber

A black man has been charged with a hate crime in the attack of a white plumbing repairman by a pit bull.
Dion Ray Moore, 27, was arraigned Friday in Marin Superior Court on charges of attempted robbery, assault with a deadly weapon -- the dog -- and assault likely to cause great bodily injury.
Kirk Willwerth, 36, was attacked Wednesday after being called to repair a flooded apartment in a public housing complex. The pit bull was seized by the Marin Humane Society.
