5 Held on Suspicion of Spreading Extremism
From Times Wire Reports
Saudi Arabia has detained five people suspected of spreading Islamic militant ideology, the Interior Ministry said.
Three were arrested Friday in Zulfi, northwest of Riyadh. Two others were detained later that day in separate raids in the capital. None were believed to be involved directly in violence.
“They are suspected mostly of supporting the extremist thought. They were trying to spread it among the youth,” said Brig. Gen. Mansour Turki, an Interior Ministry spokesman.
