Shawn Bell threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Dominique Ziegler in overtime and they connected again for the game-winning two-point conversion, lifting Baylor to a 35-34 upset of No. 16 Texas A&M; on Saturday night at Waco, Texas.

After Texas A&M;’s Keith Joseph scored on a 16-yard run on the first possession of overtime, Bell and Ziegler led the Bears, 3-5 and 1-4 in the Big 12, to the stunning victory.

After Bell rolled to his right and passed to Ziegler for the touchdown, Baylor Coach Guy Morriss decided to go for two, hoping to catch the Aggies (6-2, 4-1) by surprise.

“We wanted to teach our kids how to drop the hammer on someone,” Morris said.

In a huddle on the raucous sideline, Morriss told the players “Guys, we’re going to go for it, is that what you want?,” Bell said. “Everybody said, ‘Yes sir.’ ”

It worked to perfection.

Baylor ran the same play again, with Bell rolling right, then zipping a pass to Ziegler for the conversion, setting off a wild celebration.

Gold and green-clad students stormed the field, quickly taking down the goal posts in the south end zone and carrying them up and out of Floyd Casey Stadium. Loud music blared over the stadium speakers -- oddly fitting at a Baptist university that didn’t allow dances on campus until eight years ago.

Nebraska 24, Missouri 3 -- Cory Ross ran for a career-high 194 yards and two touchdowns at Lincoln, Neb., as the Cornhuskers (5-3, 3-2) took possession of first place in the Big 12 North.

Coach Bill Callahan’s West Coast offense looked like the Nebraska offense of old, as quarterback Joe Dailey completed only four of 18 passes for 26 yards.

The Tigers (4-4, 2-3) arrived in Lincoln only three hours before kickoff. Their chartered plane went off the runway in wet conditions Friday at the Columbia, Mo., airport. No one was injured.

Instead of having the travel party wait at the airport while the plane was inspected and the Federal Aviation Administration conducted an investigation, the decision was made to fly to Lincoln on Saturday.

No. 8 Texas 31, Colorado 7 -- Cedric Benson ran for 141 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Longhorns to victory at Boulder, Colo.

Quarterback Vince Young also scored twice for the Longhorns (7-1, 4-1), winners of two in a row. Colorado (4-4, 1-4) managed only one first down in the first half and didn’t make it past the 50 until the fourth quarter.

Texas Tech 35, Kansas State 25 -- NCAA passing leader Sonny Cumbie threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns at Manhattan, Kan., as the Red Raiders (5-3, 3-2) rebounded from a loss to Texas by defeating the Wildcats (3-5, 1-4).

Iowa State 13, Kansas 7 -- Defensive tackle Brent Curvey scored on a fumble return for the second consecutive game and Bret Culbertson kicked two field goals, lifting the Cyclones (4-4, 2-3) to their second consecutive victory. Kansas (3-5, 1-4) had only 208 yards in losing for the fifth time in six games.
