From Times Wire Reports

Responding to complaints from commuters, the California Department of Transportation has adjusted a freeway construction schedule for Interstate 15 in Devore to keep more lanes open during the week and close some during the weekend.

Originally, the 3.4-mile project was to begin Sept. 13, with around-the-clock construction Monday through Thursday. The four lanes in each direction would have been reduced to two in each direction. Under that schedule, the project would have been completed in six weeks.

But after hearing from angry commuters in Victorville who faced daily 90-minute delays, Caltrans unveiled a new schedule to begin construction Oct. 3 with three southbound lanes open in the morning.

To make up for lost time, Caltrans will work through the weekends, ensuring delays for weekend travelers to Las Vegas. The project should be completed by the end of October.
