Ruth Ragland -- 85, the longtime chairman of USC’s department of dental hygiene, died Tuesday at a hospital in Camarillo. Ragland, who earned her bachelor’s in dental hygiene at USC in 1957, became department chairwoman in 1958 and served until she retired in 1984.
