2 Charged in Beatings of Homeless Men
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Two 19-year-old men were charged Thursday with attempted murder and assault for allegedly attacking two homeless men after watching a “Bumfights” DVD.
Justin Edward Brumfield of Los Angeles and William Alexander Orantes of Inglewood pleaded not guilty and were ordered held in lieu of $1-million bail each.
Police said the pair beat two homeless men with aluminum baseball bats Tuesday night after viewing the DVD of two self-described alcoholics punching each other. Victim Ernest Adams was left in a coma.
