Canucks Stop Senators

Daniel Sedin beat Dominik Hasek with a low shot to the stick side in the fourth round of a shootout to give the Vancouver Canucks a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Friday night at Vancouver.

After Ottawa’s Daniel Alfredsson and Vancouver’s Todd Bertuzzi scored in the second round, Canuck goalie Alex Auld stopped Jason Spezza and Mike Fischer, setting the stage for Sedin. The Canucks improved to an NHL-best 13-1 at home and handed the NHL-leading Senators (21-4-1) their second loss in their last 10 games.

Colorado 4, New Jersey 3 -- After the Avalanche had squandered a 3-0 lead, Antti Laaksonen scored the only goal in seven rounds of a shootout at East Rutherford, N.J.
