Candor, not crude

“BODILY function-based humor”? Do you really believe people would be listening to Stern if that had been his main focus over 20 years? That’s just revisionist.

We listen to Howard because he talks about the hypocrisy in America and the world. He has just the right amount of anger, seriousness, inquisitiveness, humor and fun to keep people glued to their radios. He talks about how big executives’ lies are in the entertainment industry and isn’t scared to go after them. He’s got the forum to do it, and he’s doing it. He speaks for all who are [lied to], and he does it with a vigor that is unprecedented.

People who are frequently ignored, or pitied, Howard talks to year-round. He has hilarious, real conversations with them. These people come back over and over again with no compensation because they have fun with Howard. And so do I. The amazing thing about Howard is his versatility with virtually every personality type, from the gutter to dignitaries. I know of no one who can do this -- no one.

“His shows on Sirius will stamp the largely virginal medium with new benchmarks and standards for taste and decency.”

What’s tasteful to Martin Miller might not be tasteful to me. Wealthy white males, liberals or conservatives, will do everything to protect their investments in celebrities, politicians and athletes and cover up the huge issues. Howard talks about this, he focuses on it and makes it entertaining. It’s tasteful and decent for Howard to expose this.
