Spartans End Skid to the Badgers
Alan Anderson made all 10 of his shots from the field and all seven of his free throws in scoring 28 points to lead No. 10 Michigan State to a 77-64 victory over No. 20 Wisconsin on Thursday night at East Lansing, Mich.
The Spartans (20-4 overall, 11-2 in the Big Ten) ended a 12-game losing streak against ranked opponents and a six-game skid against Wisconsin.
“It was our last chance against those guys,” Anderson said. “This one was big, man.”
The Spartans have won 10 of 11 since losing to the Badgers on Jan. 16, winning their last nine by double digits. Those lopsided victories didn’t quiet their critics because of the streak against ranked opponents since the regional finals of the 2003 NCAA tournament.
Wisconsin’s Mike Wilkinson scored 18 points, Alando Tucker had 16 and reserve Zach Morley added 11.
The Badgers (17-7, 8-5) have lost three of five, allowing Indiana to pull into a third-place tie in the Big Ten standings.
The victory was Michigan State’s first over Wisconsin since Feb. 27, 2001.
No. 12 Gonzaga 84, Portland 68 -- Ronny Turiaf had 14 points and 11 rebounds, and the Bulldogs clinched the West Coast Conference title for the fifth consecutive season by defeating the Pilots at Portland, Ore.
Adam Morrison scored 22 points for Gonzaga (22-4, 13-2), which has won nine in a row. It is the ninth time since 1994 that the Bulldogs have won the regular-season conference championship.
Darren Cooper had 20 points for the Pilots (15-14, 4-10).
No. 24 Cincinnati 80, Marquette 68 -- Eric Hicks scored 17 points at Cincinnati, and the Bearcats used their strength inside to beat the Golden Eagles, who were playing their first game since leading scorer Travis Diener broke his hand in practice.

St. Joseph’s senior forward John Bryant could sit out the rest of the season after an MRI exam showed he has a broken right arm.
Bryant was injured on a hard foul two days earlier by a Temple player whom Coach John Chaney put in the game for the sole purpose of rough play and hard fouls. Temple students spit at Bryant while he was on the court and booed when he was helped up.
Duke junior guard Sean Dockery, who has started 19 of the Blue Devils’ 24 games, will be sidelined indefinitely because of a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
