Man Surrenders After Father’s Shooting Death
From Times Staff Reports
A man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of fatally shooting his father at the home they shared near South Coast Plaza.
Dennis Thomas, 50, surrendered to authorities shortly after the 12:30 p.m. shooting in the 900 block of Jasmine Circle, officials said.
Police said someone called and asked that officers check on the home. When officers arrived, they opened the unlocked door and found a body inside. The man, in his 70s, had died from gunshot wounds, police said.
Thomas’ attorney later called police and told them Thomas had surrendered.
