Motorcyclist Slams Into Truck, Dies
A 45-year-old motorcyclist from Rancho Palos Verdes died Monday after colliding with a pickup driven by an Orange County employee who was inspecting Santiago Canyon Road.
The motorcyclist’s name was not released.
The accident occurred about 2:45 p.m., officials said, as the county employee made a u-turn just north of Santiago Creek to inspect a dented guardrail.
Traveling south at high speed, officials said, the motorcyclist struck the right side of the truck at its rear axle and was thrown from his vehicle.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
