A dead crow found near homes has tested positive for West Nile virus, the second infected animal found in San Bernardino County this year, authorities announced Wednesday.

Heavy winter rains resulted in more stagnant water, where mosquitoes breed. The bugs spread West Nile to animals and humans.

Last year, the county reported 197 human cases and five deaths.
