‘Ellen’ to move for ‘Martha’
KNBC-TV announced Tuesday that the Emmy-winning “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” will move this fall from the 3 p.m. time slot to make room for “Martha,” the new syndicated show featuring Martha Stewart. Starting on Sept. 5, DeGeneres’ show will air at 4 p.m.; “Martha” will premiere at 3 p.m. Sept. 12.
Since its debut in 2003, “Ellen” has won nine daytime Emmy awards, including this year’s outstanding talk show host.
“Martha,” an hourlong series taped in front of a New York studio audience, will combine Stewart’s live interaction with studio guests and the audience, and taped segments, on her signature topics of cooking, gardening, crafts and home improvement.
