Where’s L.A.’s great bread?
Why do you run stories about bread stores in New York [“All Hail the New Upper Crust,” June 8] that we can’t go to? Run stories about bread stores in L.A. that we can go to. Big tease.

My mouth watered as I read your article about the bread offerings in New York.
For years I have wondered how the restaurants in Los Angeles can serve such unimaginative, tasteless bread and I have wished a food critic would write about it in the Food section, in the hope of encouraging them to be more innovative and daring.
Here’s hoping your article achieves that result.
At the very least, there should be more discussion of the poor quality of bread in the highest-rated restaurants in Los Angeles.
