Hope for Iraq
Re “Car Bomb Kills at Least 115 in Iraq,” March 1: I find it encouraging that “the number of young men willing to risk their lives to apply for” security jobs has not decreased in the face of such horrific attacks as Monday’s car bomb blast. Despite the fact that the insurgency has wisely focused its formidable strength on demoralizing and frightening the people of Iraq instead of the American military, scores of Iraqi men continue to rebuild the country and lead sane lives.
The tremendous resolve of these people single-handedly fuels my hope that someday Iraq will not be a dystopia but a safe, prosperous and democratic nation.
