Town’s Asbestos Threat

Re “A Town’s Hidden Threat,” May 2: El Dorado Hills, Calif., a town whose air quality and soil are infected with asbestos, went through an approval process before any grading or construction. A question the residents need to ask is who approved these developments and why did the approval process fail to protect them? Even with a limited review process, county officials would have been warned of the dangers of allowing developers to grade and dynamite veins of naturally occurring asbestos.
