Man Is Convicted of Ex-Girlfriend’s Murder
From Times Staff Reports
A Garden Grove man was convicted Thursday of murdering an ex-girlfriend at an Anaheim gas station and faces 80 years to life in prison.
Gary Clifford Laine, 50, tracked down Marie O’Hare, 44, of Anaheim on Feb. 12, 2004, at a sandwich shop inside the station, prosecutors said. After luring her outside, they said, he shot O’Hare 11 times as she ran away from him, then pulled up next to her in his car and shot her three more times when she raised her head.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 10.
