Three U.S. Troops Slain; Nine Policemen Killed

Three U.S. soldiers and nine Iraqi police officers were slain across Iraq.
One of the U.S. troops died after his vehicle hit a mine near Habbaniya, west of the capital, the military said. Another was killed when his convoy hit a roadside bomb in eastern Baghdad and a third was shot dead south of the city.
The nine Iraqi police were killed when insurgents fired on a checkpoint in Buhriz, a small town south of Baqubah about 35 miles northeast of Baghdad.
