Pomona Woman Able to Save Only 1 of 2 Daughters From Falling TV Set
A 2-year-old Pomona girl died Saturday after her 4-year-old sister apparently toppled a television set on a dresser, striking her on the head.
The girl died of multiple head fractures and internal injuries at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center at 1:15 a.m., said Pomona Police Cpl. Bert Sanchez.
On Friday evening, the older girl was apparently trying to climb the dresser to reach a videotape on top of the television as their mother went to the front door.
As the television fell over, the woman was able to grab her 4-year-old, but was unable to reach the younger girl, Sanchez said.
“It appears it was just an accident at this point,” Sanchez said.
