Earthquakes Stretch Streak to 12
Brian Ching and Dwayne DeRosario scored second-half goals and Western Conference-leading San Jose (17-4-9) defeated New England, 2-0, Saturday at Foxborough, Mass., to extend its unbeaten streak to 12 games.
East-leading New England (16-7-7) lost at home for only the second time in 15 games.
Ching converted a corner kick from Kevin Goldthwaite in the 60th minute on a header past goaltender Matt Reis. DeRosario scored on a 16-yard shot in the 80th minute.

D.C. United 4, MetroStars 1 -- United scored four times in the second half at East Rutherford, N.J., including Ben Olsen’s first two goals this season.
The win clinched an MLS Eastern Conference playoff berth for United (15-9-5), the defending league champion, and hampered the playoff chances of the MetroStars (10-9-10), whose 11-game unbeaten streak at home ended.

Chicago 1, Kansas City 0 -- Thiago scored from 22 yards in the 66th minute at Kansas City, Mo.
Thiago scored after taking a loose ball being fought for by Wizard defender Jimmy Conrad and Fire forward Nate Jaqua, giving Chicago (15-11-3) its first win in four games against Kansas City (11-9-10) this season.

Colorado 2, Real Salt Lake 1 -- Jeff Cunningham scored in the 86th minute to lead the Rapids at Denver.
Salt Lake (5-20-4) lost its ninth consecutive game and second against the Rapids (12-13-4) in 10 days.
Clint Mathis scored his third goal this season, in the 14th minute, to give Salt Lake a 1-0 lead.
Dayan tied it for Colorado in the 39th minute.
