Prison Term In O.C. Abuse Case
A Corona del Mar woman was sentenced Friday to 20 months in state prison for attempting to sexually abuse a 15-year-old female friend.
A jury convicted former stripper Victoria C. Hawlish, 41, in March on three counts of attempted lewd acts on a teenager who stayed at her home for four months in 2003. Hawlish must register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.
“Mrs. Hawlish was placed in a position of trust and she violated that position by sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl,” Deputy Dist. Atty. Jana Hoffman said Friday. “She appears to have no sympathy or empathy for her victim.”
Orange County Superior Court Judge Carla M. Singer issued the sentence in Santa Ana.
