Veterans’ cemetery

I read with great anger and dismay the proposed use for the Veterans Affairs complex in Westwood (Sept. 13). The primary use should be to extend the cemetery.

My husband, awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his bravery in World War II, recently died, and his services were held in the chapel. But there was no land for even his ashes, and the wall being built for names will not be available for a couple of years. Is this the way to remember the people who fought to save the lives of the very people who will not even give them a proper resting place?
