GE Unit to Acquire IDX for $1.3 Billion

GE Healthcare said it would acquire IDX Systems Corp., a healthcare information technology provider, for $1.3 billion in cash, expanding its bet in healthcare business management.
The General Electric Co. unit agreed to pay $44 a share for IDX, a 25% premium over the stock’s closing price Wednesday.
IDX shares rose $8.08, or 23%, to $43.25, while GE shares gained 16 cents to $33.65.
