Arrest Warrant Issued in Slaying of Iranian Exile
A Swiss investigator has issued an international arrest warrant for Iran’s former intelligence chief in connection with the killing of an exiled Iranian opposition leader.
The warrant demands the arrest of Ali Fallahian, who was intelligence minister from 1989 to 1997, on the grounds that he “decided and ordered the execution of Kazem Rajavi.”
Rajavi, a member of the Mujahedin Khalq armed resistance movement, was shot to death near his home in suburban Geneva in 1990. He had obtained political asylum in Switzerland. Iranian officials had no immediate comment.
