A Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus and a compact car collided Sunday night in Sun Valley, leaving the 28-year-old driver of the car in serious condition, city fire officials said.
The accident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. at Sheldon Street and Telfair Avenue, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It was unclear who was at fault, he said.
The injured driver, who was not identified, was briefly trapped in the wreckage and taken to a nearby hospital with injuries to the face and legs, Humphrey said.
