ANDRE ETHIER, OF

Las Vegas, triple A

Acquired in the Milton Bradley trade, Ethier, 23, was basically a Punch-and-Judy hitter until displaying some power in double A last season, slugging .497 for Midland. His big drawback on defense is his weak arm. Ethier has career fourth outfielder written all over him, but with the brittleness of Jayson Werth and the erratic play of Jose Cruz Jr., Ethier could be up with the big club at some point.

MATT KEMP, OF

Jacksonville, double A

Kemp, 21, opened some eyes in the Dodger organization in 2005 when he broke Adrian Beltre’s Class-A Vero Beach record for home runs with 27. Kemp also hit .306 and stole 23 bases. He continued his strong play in the Arizona Fall League, hitting .383 for Phoenix. He’s not the greatest outfielder defensively, but he’s no Billy Ashley either and could find himself playing a role in the Dodger outfield in the 2007 season.
